Most of the forested land where Wandoo occurs is protected in some way, the small amount available is usually accessed from private property.
Because of it’s extreme hardness, Wandoo was used in the early sawmilling days as wooden bearings on low speed shafting.
Also known as : Eucalyptus redunca
Origin : Mainly found in the wheatbelt areas of Western Australia, limited to rainfall range of 380 to 500 mm per annum.
Colour : Ranges from pale yellow brown to reddish brown, darkens distinctly with age, .and when has been in situ for many years can easily be mistaken for Jarrah.
