Sydney Blue Gum Eucalyptus saligna

Usually a very clean timber, does not carry a lot of gum.

When discussing this species it is important to identify it as Sydney blue gum, as Tasmanian blue gum is also referred to simply as blue gum, and although the names are the same, the colour and features of the two timbers are vastly different.

Origin : Mainly found in Northern New South Wales, through to southern Queensland.

Colour : Medium to light reddish, some pink in sapwood, can also exhibit light brown toning.
