Brushbox Tristania conferta

Can sometimes be difficult to aquire. Generally does not exhibit much gum or pin hole.

Contains high levels of silica which can make it difficult to machine. Also contains a natural wax (sometimes confused with oil) which can cause adhesion problems when applying some of the solvent-based polyurethanes.

Origin : Central coast of New South Wales to Bowen in southern Queensland. Most production occurs in Qld.

Colour : From a rich reddish brown near the heartwood to light pinkish sapwood. Overall is medium to dark red or brown.
