This can mean that as a floor, the variation in colour can be very wide.

This species is a softwood and as it has a low hardness rating, will indent very easily. Many of the older homes in the inner suburbs of Melbourne and Sydney have Baltic flooring.

Origin : Wide distribution throughout northern Europe .Generally sold as Baltic pine in Australia. Is the traditional Christmas tree of northern Europe

Colour : The sapwood is creamy white to light yellow, whereas the heartwood is yellow brown to reddish brown.

Hardness : 3.3
